Wadham College Network and IT Acceptable Use
Internet and network services at Wadham College are provided by the
University of Oxford primarily for academic, educational, and
administrative purposes. Anyone connecting a device to the Wadham
College network must comply with the requirements below.

Account Credentials and Security
- Passwords and access credentials are issued for individual use only.
- Credentials must be kept secure and must not be shared.
Prohibited Use
- Any unlawful activity.
- Offensive, threatening, or indecent material (unless authorised for research).
- Harassment or impersonation of others.
- Unauthorised bulk email or self-propagating messages.
- Copyright or intellectual property infringement.
- Unauthorised commercial activity.
- Attempts to gain unauthorised access or disrupt services.

Activities resulting in:
- waste of resources
- data loss or corruption
- privacy breaches
- malware or virus introduction
File Sharing
Distributed and peer-to-peer file sharing (e.g. BitTorrent, uTorrent,
LimeWire, eMule, Vuze) is not permitted unless explicitly authorised
for approved research.
Mobile Devices
- Users are responsible for securing their devices.
- Passwords must be stored securely using encryption.
- Devices must not be jailbroken.
- Operating systems and software must be kept up to date.
Security Awareness
Academic networks are frequent targets for cyber-attacks. Users must
keep devices updated and exercise caution with email attachments
and links.
Failure to comply may result in loss of network access.
